The Fredericksburg Bible Institute & Seminary was the vision of the late Dr. G. Albert Brown, who, more than forty years ago, sought to educate those who desired to know the Bible.
On September 2, 1969, the State Corporation Commission granted a charter to the Fredericksburg Bible Institute. “Seminary” has since been added to the State Charter.
The Fredericksburg Bible Institute & Seminary has been affiliated with Fredericksburg Christian Schools since January 2008.
Conferral of Degrees
According to the code of Virginia, Section 23-266 A-2, action was taken by the Council of Higher Education on February 3, 1982 to allow this Institute to confer degrees. Fredericksburg Bible Institute and Seminary is a religious institution exempt from state regulation and oversight in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Tax Deductible Status
The Internal Revenue Service granted the Institute tax exemption in 1970, and all contributions are deductible. The state has also granted the Institute tax deductible textbook sales.
Fredericksburg Bible Institute & Seminary is a nonprofit ministry offering Christian Bible education to adults (18 years of age and over). We are coed, multi-cultural, evangelical and non-denominational, and admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at our school.
Fredericksburg Bible Institute & Seminary is approved under the Veterans’ Administration for various biblical programs.
Fredericksburg Bible Institute & Seminary is an Affiliate institution of the Association for Biblical Higher Education. As such, it participates in and contributes to collegial and professional development activities of the Association. Affiliate status does not, however, constitute, imply, or presume ABHE accredited status at present or in the future.
Partnership with Lancaster Bible College
Fredericksburg Bible Institute and Seminary is now in partnership with Lancaster Bible College. Because of our affiliate status with ABHE, LBC has agreed to accept our credits toward its accredited Accelerated Undergraduate Degrees (AUD) for Biblical Studies, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and General Studies.
